2010 Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center Duck Race Rules [Printable PDF Version]
- Ducks will be launched at Fishtrap spillway at approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011. All ducks entered will be provided by the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center and shall remain the property of the same.
- By entering, entrants release the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center and Fishtrap State Park and all their officers, directors, and staff and other related entities from any and all liability with respect to prizes and/ or injury.
- By purchasing an entry in the duck race, you give the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center to post your name and duck number. By entering, winners also consent to the promotional use of their names and likenesses without additional compensation.
- All duck entry tickets must be purchased by 12:30 p.m. the day of the race. Each official Duck Race entrant must register name, address, and telephone number with Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center prior to one half hour prior to the event. The participant will be provided a document establishing irrefutable temporary ownership of their duck.
- Each duck will have a unique number that corresponds to previously purchased duck sponsor paper numbers. The persons who names appear on the entry tickets corresponding to the ducks in order of finish will be awarded prizes.
- The "Duck Race Entry Form" must be completely filled out and delivered to the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center or an authorized representative and received prior to the race for the ticket to be eligible to win any prizes. Ducks will be available for purchase the day of the race. (See #4 above).
- No refunds shall be made on any ticket(s) sold.
- Once the ducks are launched, no one except Duck Race officials may interfere with any
duck. Attempts to assist ducks caught in obstacles will be made by Duck Race volunteers only well back from the lead pack with the intent to return the race duck to the course without improving its chances of placing. The ducks must finish within the designated areas.
- Positive identification is required to claim any prize won.
- No member of the immediate family (spouse, children, and parents) of and employee or board member of the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center is eligible under any circumstances to win a prize.
- Winners will be announced from the Duck Race Booth and shall be posted at the Duck Race Booth, and shall be published on the organization's website. Entrants need not be present to win. If the winner is not present at the drawing, the Big Sandy Child Advocacy Center will notify the winner within seven (7) days of the drawing by certified mail. The winner must claim the prize within thirty (30) days of being contacted.
- If a winner wants to donate the prize to the organization, the winner must notify the organization in writing within the thirty (30) day period.
- A list of prizes and additional copies of these rules are available from the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center, 128 S. College Street, Pikeville, KY 41501 or at www.judisplace.org.
- Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries.
- This event is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law. This event is regulated through Exemption #: EXE0001465.
- The Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center Board of Directors will make all decisions and interpretations of rules and regulations and their judgment is final.
