Serving the five eastern-most counties of Kentucky (Pike, Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin),
the Big Sandy Area Child Advocacy Center (BSACAC) focuses on support and services
to victims of child sexual abuse and their non-offending family members/caretakers in a child friendly environment that ensures
child safety, health, and wellbeing. This is possible only through the joint efforts of the various professionals that must
get involved when a child reports abuse.
Our area has many separate agencies that provide services to children who have been sexually abused. With the combined knowledge
and professional skills of the Department of Community Based Services, law enforcement, court system, and medical and mental
health services; the result will be the most effective response to child abuse possible. |
